Our Story
Escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and business life. Buhle Estate Wedding and Conference Venue is situated in countryside of Bishopstowe, a short 15 minute drive from the CBD of Pietermaritzburg, the pretty gardens and surrounding views provide a perfect wedding, family function or conference venue.

A life well lived
This dynamic woman was born in Richmond into a family of 5 she being the youngest with huge amounts of energy and drive. Her father died when she was very young so her mother had the huge responsibility of bringing up all the children on her own. It was a close knit family and they relied on each for help, company and fun. At the same time discipline and rules were important; this was the grounding for things to come. Her mother was an entrepreneur and opened a string of spaza shops, Nobuhle loved to help her mother, especially with the till box adding and subtracting.
Nobuhle went to the local schools in Richmond, enjoyed her studies and worked hard, with experience in the shops; she had a good acumen for numbers so went on to study accounting. This was followed by a diploma in Food preparation from Capsicum College.
In 2005 she opened her first business, she rented small premises at the old prison in PMB, she employed a driver and a co-chef and hence Jailbreak Caterers was born. She now employs 73 people, business is strong and steady.
So now it is on to bigger dreams, a 16hectare plot in the Bishopstowe countryside purchased, and a beautiful 210 seater venue built. Her vision is to create another successful business this time in hospitality, hosting weddings, functions and conferences. Nono, her daughter has just finished a degree in media and marketing from Durban University and has climbed on board to help develop this new vision.
It is no wonder that her most favourite past times are being at home with family and friends sitting round a table and eating one of her delicious creations.
